Concerns for the welfare of an individual prompted an emergency response from Police and HM Coastguard to Culver Down this afternoon (Thursday).
Police were alerted to the situation at around 13:00.
Teams were deployed and the individual’s vehicle was located at the end car park of Culver Down – overlooking Bembridge.
With further concerns raised, HM Coastguard tasked Coastguard Rescue Teams to the East Wight beauty spot.
Sandown Lifeboat is understood to have also been tasked to the incident but was stood down prior to launch.
Coastguards left the scene at 14:15, with Police also standing down a short while later.
