Red Funnel has cancelled 2 sailings on its East Cowes-Southampton service this evening (Wednesday).
Due to a technical issue with a forward bellow on Red Falcon, the 20:15 from Southampton and the 21:45 from East Cowes have both been cancelled.
The cross-Solent operator says that engineering and mechanical teams are working hard to resolve the issue.
It’s unclear at this stage if there will be further cancellations moving into Thursday.
UPDATE THURSDAY – It has now been confirmed that the 05:00, 08:00 and 11:00 sailings from Southampton and the 06:30, 09:30 and 12:30 sailings from East Cowes have also been cancelled.
Red Funnel apologise for any disruption to your journey.
UPDATE @ 12:53 – Vehicle ferry 14:00 from Southampton and 15:30 from East Cowes have also been cancelled due to the ongoing technical issues.

All the huge profits should go into decent ferries
not in the back pockets
Totally agree Molly. If the top management don’t want to admit that the boats are all well past their sell by date and they are throwing good money after bad then they should get out now and let some management in who actually care about the Islanders. I wonder how much salary they receive for running a third world service.
Nothing to do with lack of traffic or passengers
Just like Wightlink
for God’s sake, when is the government going to get involved. people’s lives at stake with hospital appointments, this can’t carry on just to save a few pennies for this lot
Blame it on the Russians!
Awards???? For what????
What happens if your booking is cancelled Do they just put you on the next boat does anyone know?
Even southern vectis are jumping on the band wagon blaming sickness for lack of public service , never heard of this before covid
Is the red falcon any relation to the floating bridge
