The Isle of Wight Council are reminding locals that the steps at Compton beach car park are out of use following their collapse earlier this month, with warnings not to use the dangerous coastal slope.
Access from the car park down onto the beach has been severed following heavy rainfall over the past few weeks, however it is unlikely that works to reinstate the steps will be completed before Easter as the ground is still too unstable.
Anyone wanting to access Compton beach are advised to use pathways from Compton Farm/Cottages or Brook car park instead.
