Family-owned Luccombe Hotels and Shanklin Villa have proudly claimed 3 major accolades in the 2024 Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards, affirming their commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Luccombe Hall Hotel was awarded the prestigious Gold for Best Hotel Experience for the third consecutive year, while sister hotel Luccombe Manor earned the
Silver Award for Best Place for Dogs, and Shanklin Villa received the Gold Award for Best Apartment/Cottage on the Isle of Wight.
Steve Wells, Director of Luccombe Hotels, says:
“We are absolutely thrilled with this recognition. Winning these awards makes us even more determined to keep improving. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who voted for us.”
With a strong commitment to reinvesting in facilities and the dedication of their 45-member team, Luccombe Hotels and Shanklin Villa continually enhance their offerings. This year, Luccombe Hall introduced a retro 80s gaming arcade and a lending shed stocked with crabbing kits, windbreaks, rounders sets, and more, providing guests with nostalgic and fun options for all ages.
Luccombe Manor has gone all out to be a dog-friendly haven. The hotel now provides thoughtful amenities, including dog beds, blankets, outdoor thermostatically controlled showers, towels for muddy paws, a food storage and prep room, a doggie shop, goody bags, and even a doggie afternoon tea, creating an unparalleled experience for pets.
At Shanklin Villa, a complete refurbishment has transformed each apartment into a unique retreat, combining comfort and character for holidaymakers seeking an authentic island stay.
Luccombe Hotels is on track to achieve carbon neutrality by mid-2025. The company has transitioned to electric vehicles, sustainable energy sources, and offers free EV charging points, bicycle rentals, and rover bus tickets for guests, encouraging eco-friendly exploration of the Island.
The triple award win underscores Luccombe Hotels and Shanklin Villa’s position as premier destinations on the Isle of Wight, known for their innovation, dedication, and heartfelt hospitality.

Glad to hear things are better.
Have stayed there twice a number of years ago
and there were a couple of issues back then,
but I must say the Restaurant was top notch
and the views from the Hotel are amazing.
Well done.
