A power cut has hit the East Wight this afternoon (Friday) affecting business, residents and Island Line Trains.
Island Echo understands the power outage is affecting the Sandown, Yaverland and Bembridge area.
A reader has told Island Echo that trains are delayed due to the outage.
Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are on site trying to locate the fault which occurred at 15:42 and aim to have supplies restored at 19:00.
A spokesperson for SSEN has confirmed that a High Voltage fault is the cause of the loss of power, affecting 20 postcode areas.
“We’re sorry for the loss of supply.
“We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed.
“Our engineers are on-site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can.

UPDATE @ 20:00 – All power supplies to the affected areas have now been restored.


















































































No power loss in Lake but Sky internet on & off at times might be the exchange losing power.
Power briefly went, maybe a minute or two in Bembridge.
