A horse box coming to rest in a ditch is causing delays on the main diversion route to Cowes this afternoon (Monday).
Island Echo readers heading between the 2 major towns spotted the peculiar situation on Whitehouse Road at around 15:00.
As a result of the lorry’s precarious position, traffic heading out of Cowes alongside Whitehouse Road, towards Forest Road, is being delayed.
Island Echo understands that no other vehicles are involved, it is unclear how the horsebox got into difficulty.
UPDATE @ 15:40 – The incident has been cleared.

The driver ok? Any passengers? Horse safe and sound if onboard?
Don’t worry about that nonsense, let’s be concerned for the inconvenience to drivers.
Vehicles get in some strange positions on the island.
I for one will be glad when the road works are over.
More bad driving on the Iow
Well said Maek, nobody seems to care about anyone but themselves these days. So your journey is a lttle delayed, so what, think about the other people for a change!
Bit early for the Grand National
