The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to a young child that became locked within a car in Lake this evening (Monday).
An appliance from Shanklin Fire Station was mobilised to the incident at Merrie Farm Park, off of Newport Road, shortly after 18:30.
The retained firefighters gained entry to the vehicle using their door entry equipment to free the toddler, who was only 2-years-old.
The youngster was reunited with the parents and the fire crew returned to station by 19:15, drawing the incident to a close.
In an unrelated incident, fire crews from Ventnor were called to Ventnor High Street following an alarm activation at 20:00.
It was then discovered a near-by bonfire was to blame.
