1 appliance from Newport Fire Station has been called to Seaclose Park this afternoon (Monday) where smoke has been seen coming from a tipper van.
The alarm was raised when smoke was seen issuing from the rear of a Ford Transit Tipper van which has a bed filled with dry grass.
Wholetime firefighters are currently extinguishing the small fire and dampening down.
The incident has been contained to the tipper bed and has not spread to the vehicle or the ride-on mower towed behind.
The fire crews have worked so hard recently.
