The Independent Living Centre, the current headquarters and base of People Matter IW, is moving from the Downside Learning and Community Centre.
The move to 1 & 2 Bernard Way on the Riverway Estate in Newport is set to take place in early March, if all goes to schedule. The new base will be a unit near to the Post Office depot.
People Matter IW will be situated at the new unit, on a temporary basis, for a period of 1 year in the first instance until a review of services has taken place.
Terri Baker, Manager of People Matter IW said:
“This will be a very busy time for all at People Matter IW, and a lot will need to happen to make this work.
“The current Independent Living Centre will be closed to the public from 22nd February and will move on the 29th February. The provisional date for the opening of the new Centre will be Monday the 7th March but this will, of course, be subject to all works having been carried out”.
