The Bay CE Secondary School will partially close from tomorrow in response to staff going into self isolation – but the school insists no students or staff have been confirmed as having COVID-19.
It has been confirmed that the school will be closed to students in Years 8 & 10 tomorrow (Wednesday) and closed to Years 9 & 10 on Thursday.
The news means that Year 10 students do not have to attend school for the next 2 days, with Years 8 and 9 getting 1 day off each. Year 7 students should attend as normal.
A spokesperson for the school has said:
“We do not have any confirmed cases of staff or students that have been diagnosed with COVID-19 however, as per the government measures put in place, we now have a number of staff who are unable to attend work.
“This initial partial closure is to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students and staff and will allow us to maintain a quality provision of education”.
Students who are not in school are expected to work from home and to follow their scheduled timetable. Work can be accessed via Show My Homework https://bayceschool.satchelone.com/school/homeworks/calendar or via the Show My Homework app.
Should any parent whose child is entitled to a Free School Meal wish to collect a lunch bag (comprising sandwich, fruit and drink) they should contact their year manager to arrange.
The Bay CE Secondary School say they will re-evaluate staffing levels regularly and continue to work with parents and carers to give as much notice of any further closures should they be required.

With that grammar, I’d say you bloody need school more than anyone else. Luck bastard.
That’s not right for year 7 surely, all the others years gets days off but not year 7, what a joke
It’s not a holiday they still have to work from home!
Surely that’s a good thing.
I believe Society is 65% dead with all the I’m all right jack attitude filled with panic buyers that have more than they need leaving others with little or nothing. How can people be expected to send there children to school when the local council have shut all leisure centres even McDonald’s have a take away only set up. And local businesses largely affected. When you walk out of your front door and you realise the world is not the same you have to ask why.
Good old boris Johnson a safe PM I believe he Wouldn’t even start a war without reason but time to grow a pair of balls and Shut the schools if society is alive friends and family can help keep children safeguarded and the great workers that wish to continue in there jobs will be supported buy friends and family and will be continued to be respected and appreciated by the sensible respectful people of society.
Sod the education welfare The local council and the government I WILL DECIDE WHAT’S RIGHT FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.
Contradictory!!
“I WILL DECIDE WHAT’S RIGHT FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.” Thats exactly what the panic buyers said.
