Adverse weather is resulting in delays and cancellations on cross-Solent travel this morning (Monday).
Hovertravel have suspended their service between Ryde and Southsea in its entirety. An update is due at 08:00.
Wightlink have cancelled a number of sailings on their Yarmouth-Lymington car ferry route. The 06.40, 08.45, 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00 sailings from Lymington have all been pulled in advance, alongside the 07.50, 10.05, 12.05, 14.05 and 16.05 sailings from Yarmouth.
However, Wightlink’s Fastcat operation between Ryde and Portsmouth is operating to timetable, as is the Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service.
Red Funnel’s Red Jet and Vehicle Ferry services are also operating to timetable at present.
Overnight a fallen tree led to the closure of Middle Road near Calbourne.
UPDATE @ 06:45 – On the roads, a fallen tree is blocking the road at Hillway Road, Bembridge. This is causing significant delays on the 06:17 Route 8 bus from Whitecliff Bay to Ryde.
UPDATE @ 10.59 – Ryde Pier Head car park is currently full. Alternatives can be found in Ryde St Johns and surrounding areas.
Hovertravel services remain cancelled due to adverse weather.
UPDATE @ 15:20 – Hovertravel services have now resumed, but there are continuing cancellations on Wightlink’s Yarmouth-Lymington service.
