The Cowes Floating Bridge will be out of action for 6 hours tomorrow (Monday) owing to staff sickness.
Council officials have confirmed the news, stating that the service will not run between 08:00-14:00.
A replacement launch service for foot passengers and cyclists will be in operation during this time.
The Isle of Wight Council apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We’ve heard ,I thought every excuse possible for the non functioning of the floating bridge ,but this really has to take the p*ss to the utmost top level.
Are the sickies going to make a magical recovery after 1400 to all the bridge to operate ?
How many staff does a floating bridge need that is pulled a couple of hundred yards on chains?
Why do Island echo delete comments ??
doesn’t suit some peoples narrative – so they complain and IE remove it if they agree.
Some of em dont do anything anyway …just stand there ,the skills this must take is mind boggling …
The isle of wight Council apologise …..
.they should apologise for this waste of money…….
Why can’t one of our public councillors pop down to assist for a few hours?????
Sure someone must be able to train him …./ her .
Covid lockdowns on furlough getting paid for doing nothing sunning the backside on the beach has made the staff work shy, going back to work for living all seems a bit alien to them now, so they have throw a sickie when it’s sunny lost the work ethic..
