Red Funnel has cancelled at least 4 sailings on its East Cowes-Southampton vehicle ferry service this morning (Thursday) due to a lack of staff.
It has been confirmed that the 05:00 and 08:00 sailings from Southampton have been cancelled, alongside the 06:30 and 09:30 from East Cowes.
Last night the 22:00 from Southampton and the 23:30 from East Cowes were also cancelled.
It’s said that ‘limited availability of crew’ is to blame.
Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience to your journey.

It’s down to staff leaving due to it being a terrible company to work for as all management do is be confrontational to the workforce whilst they take massive bonuses for making the company a laughing stock
I think you’ll find the problem is the management, not the hard working staff that you have so rudely and unfoundedly called ‘useless’ and ‘lazy’, lets hope you never need their assistance during an emergency, maybe then you’ll see how important these people are.
I know from experience Red Funnel have a massive staff turnover issue, maybe now they need to look into the root causes and work structures before they attempt to recruit and then lose even more staff.
Best they start offering more discounts to those they keep letting down
It’s not red funnels fault if the staff are ill or don’t turn up for work? If you don’t like the fact sometimes you can’t get to mainland, then move back there?? Stop complaining about something so minor!
I know all the anti-fixed linkers hate to think of their precious island no longer being an island, but do they really think that either of our ferry services are actually fit for the 21st century?

People wait months for a mainland hospital appointment, what about family deaths or other family emergencies
