The front office service at Ryde Police Station will be temporarily shut from tomorrow (Wednesday) until Monday 15th July.
Hampshire Constabulary would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but want to reassure the public that this is a short temporary closure due to front office staffing resources.
Newport police station remains open as usual between Monday and Saturday 09:00 – 18:00 and Sunday 09:30 – 18:00 with a lunch closure between 14:00 and 15:00 each day. (10:00 – 18:00 on bank holidays).
There will be a reduced Ryde Front Office service between 10:00 and 16:00 from Thursday 13th June until Monday 16th June inclusive during the Isle of Wight Festival period.
Residents can also phone 101 from the convenience of their own home for all non-emergency police matters such as reporting a crime, obtaining advice and information, or finding out about beat surgeries or other police events in their area. 101 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and calls from landlines or mobile networks cost 15 pence per call, no matter what time of day or how long you are on the phone.
Through phoning 101, residents will also be able to arrange a visit by an officer at a mutually convenient time and place.
Local Safer Neighbourhoods teams will remain based at the heart of the communities they serve and will continue to be available at beat surgeries and community meetings.
To find out how to contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods team, residents can either phone 101 or type in their post code on www.hampshire.police.uk or www.police.uk.
