Southern Co-op is cutting the price of takeaway hot drinks to £1 at store across Isle of Wight this month as households continue to feel the pressure of rising everyday costs.
Until Sunday (31st May), customers visiting participating Southern Co-op stores – including Mill Hill Road in Cowes, Main Road at Rookley and Regent Street in Shanklin – will be able to buy tea, coffee and hot chocolate for £1, without needing to make any other purchase.
With the average high street coffee now costing upwards of £3, the offer gives shoppers a straightforward saving on their daily caffeine fix. For regular coffee drinkers, it will add up to a meaningful saving over the fortnight, while those who might usually skip the treat can enjoy one without thinking twice about the cost.
Anuj Christie, Head of Store Operations at Southern Co-op, said:
“Our stores are part of the daily routine for so many people in the communities we serve, whether that’s grabbing a coffee on the way to work or picking up essentials after the school run.
“We know a hot drink can be a small but welcome part of someone’s day, and this offer is about making that more accessible. There’s no catch – just a £1 hot drink with no other purchase needed – and we hope it’s a simple way to give something back to the customers who support our stores.”

If you want to save even more money, why not make one at home and put it in a reusable cup!
That is savvy shopping.
Too be honest I don’t mind stretching to a quid for a
coffee that costs less than 20p to make.
For years I would pop to Dell Cafe and Puckpool Park
for a flat white, but what they charge nowdays is scandalous.
“Their loss is my gain”
No coffee should be more than £2 a mug.
Spoons give a bottomless coffee, much cheaper.
Ice creams are the same. Box of 3 magnums for £2
in CO-OP, or 1 magnum for £3.50 along Ryde Esplanade.
Businesses are greedy.
Wel, done CO-OP
Nice gesture but coffee is a luxury
Jar of coffee at home is a cheap way to drink it.
