Working smoke alarms alerted the occupants of a property in Ryde to a fire developing in the kitchen during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
2 appliances from Ryde Fire Station were mobilised to Slade Road, Oakfield at around 04:10.
Just minutes later both appliances arrived on scene to find a fire in the kitchen. 2 BA wearers were committed with a hose reel.
Thankfully, all persons were accounted for having been alerted to the situation by the smoke alarms. This allowed them to exit the building swiftly and safely.
Although the fire was stopped from spreading throughout the property, a lot of smoke damage has been sustained.
