A crash on the main road between Ryde and Newport at Fishbourne is causing lengthy rush hour tailbacks this evening (Wednesday).
At least 2 vehicles – a van and a Smart car – have been involved in the shunt on Eleanor’s Grove, close to the junction with Fishbourne Lane.
Police are on scene and recovery is underway but the incident is causing significant delays in both directions, particularly for those heading towards Ryde.
Motorists should avoid the area for the time being.
UPDATE – The scene has now been cleared.
