Shanklin United Reformed Church was filled with festive spirit on Saturday (7th December) as shepherds welcomed passers-by to step inside for a unique Christmas experience.
Visitors were treated to free refreshments, Christmas gift bags, and the opportunity to step into a live nativity scene – complete with costumes and a photo opportunity using their own devices.
Among those who stopped by was a local father, James, who said he hadn’t planned on taking part:
James has said:
“We only set out to get our turkey from the butchers.
“The boys (aged 4 and 6) used to love coming to CatURpillars here but they are at school now.”
The event served as a reminder of the welcoming community at Shanklin United Reformed Church. Families can look forward to the next opportunity to visit when Messy Church returns on Saturday 20th December.
