Playing a Bowmaker competition, it was the team of Louise Webb, Helen Whittaker and Nicki Glasgow from Westridge Golf Club who took 1st prize in the annual Ladies’ Open at Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club.
They finished with 92 points ahead of Pippa Walker, Judy Gowing and Barbara O’Boyle from Roehampton with 89 points on 23rd June.
2 days later, on Sunday 25th June, the Club hosted their Mixed Open. Mainland and Island clubs, together with teams from Shanklin and Sandown, competed in a 4-Ball-Better-Ball Stableford Competition.
Paul and Nicki Morton from Ryde took 1st place with 53 points, with Joyce Jenkins and Brian Morey from Osborne taking 2nd place on 48 points.
The Home Open winners were the hybrid team of Ray Bloomfield and Sally Hardy (Westridge) with 48 points with Club Captain, Sean Millward and Amanda Wade runners up on countback with 46 points.
