Electro-pop solo artist Emellia has won The Island Has Talent, taking home the £1,000 prize money in the process.
The 24-year-old from Shanklin was crowned the overall winner at the final – held at Eastern Gardens in Ryde – last Sunday (21st August).
Emily Wild — or Emellia as she is known to those who follow her — has been writing her own original songs since she was 12 years old, learning and studying for a degree at the Platform One college of music, in Newport.
Emily was one of the winners of the preliminary heats, held earlier in the summer, and gave herself a great chance of taking the overall £1,000 prize. It turned out that it was meant to be for Emily, as she was announced as the winner at the competition’s finale on Sunday.
Judges included Island celebrity Derek Sandy – who founded the competition following his audition on ITV hit show Britains Got Talent a few years ago.
After her win, Emily said:
“I honestly cannot believe it! thank you so much for all of your support
“Thank you The Island Has Talent for believing in me + thank you to the wonderful contestants that I met that were so kind to me!
“Until next year – let’s go fix up that PA and home studio”.

Well done Emily you deserve this after years of hard work xxxx
