Police are investigating the circumstances behind a hit and run incident in Carisbrooke this morning (Tuesday) in which a parent was struck by a vehicle.
The casualty, a woman, was walking her child to school when a vehicle mounted the pavement and struck her.
Thankfully, the child was uninjured but the mum suffered an injury to her back and other bruising.
Hampshire Constabulary say the incident took place on Carisbrooke road at around 08:20 and that the vehicle involved did not stop at the scene.
