UPDATED: Strong winds and choppy seas have resulted in the suspension of Hovertravel’s Ryde to Southsea service this morning (Saturday).
Adverse conditions on the Solent mean that neither Island Flyer or Solent Flyer will be operating for the time being.
Over the past week or so the passenger service has been badly effected by the weather. The operator has had to cancel services for several hours at a time on numerous occasions. Yesterday (Friday) the service was cancelled 3 times due to the weather.
Hovertravel say an update will be provided at 09:15.
UPDATE @ 13:00 – Services resumed at 12:15 from Ryde, but have once again been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions.
Meanwhile at the other end of the Solent, Wightlink have cancelled the 14:05 from Yarmouth.
