Students & Staff at Carisbrooke College took part in a Santa Dash on the last day of term before Christmas, raising £500 for charity.
On Friday 17 December, 100 students across the Year 7 – 11 age range, along with staff, completed a 2km Santa Dash from school to Carisbrooke Castle and back.
Students all paid a £5 donation to the charity Wight Brainy Bunch to take part and were rewarded with Santa hats to wear for the run.
They were rewarded with hot chocolate once crossing the finishing line.
Mike Peake, lead for behaviour and safety at the school said:
“The students were an absolute pleasure and it was obvious to see how much they enjoyed themselves!
“I am really proud of how willing they always are to support local charities and this is one that is close to many of our hearts.”
A spokesperson for Carisbrooke College Facebook page added:
“As always, the students were a pleasure and they did Carisbrooke College proud.
“Well done to all students who took part and thank you to the staff who organised and supported the event.”
The Wight Brainy Bunch was set up by Mark Grimes and his wife Kathryn, from the Isle of Wight, following Mark’s diagnosis of a brain tumour in February 2015.
