A man who received a head and neck injury aboard a 32ft racing yacht was brought ashore by Cowes RNLI lifeboat yesterday afternoon (Monday).
The accident, involving the boom, occurred near East Lepe Buoy, off Egypt Point.
The lifeboat, which launched just before 17:00, brought the casualty to Trinity Landing where Coastguard Rescue Officers and an ambulance were waiting.
After being stretchered onto The Parade, the man, who was conscious, was taken by ambulance to St Mary’s Hospital.
The lifeboat returned to station at 17:37.
Yet another cowes week blunder.
