Ryde School welcomed an unannounced visit from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) for a progress monitoring inspection last month – and are pleased to say that the inspectors found the school to be compliant in all areas.
As previously reported by Island Echo, in May 2022 the school was told that it failed to meet standards in numerous areas such as promoting the personal development of pupils and not challenging comments made that were of a homophobic or sexist nature.
The school – of Queen’s Road in Ryde – was told they had until 19th December 2022 to create an action plan on how they were going to tackle said failings. But now, in March 2023 the school have confirmed that they are compliant in all areas.
Measured as having now met action points that needed addressing from a previous inspection in May 2022, the school has announced that it is compliant in all areas plus ratings already given in May of ‘Excellent’ for the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements and ‘Good’ for the quality of pupils’ personal development.
With a new Head Master and leadership team in place from September 2022, the school is happy to see that the senior leadership team and Governors ‘demonstrate good skills and knowledge appropriate to their role and fulfil their responsibilities effectively’.
Not promoting personal development… because not all rich kids have brains so not only can they not make a horse drink, they’ve lost interest in leading them to water because they know they’re wasting their time doing so. Selective secondary school urinate all over private schools in terms of academic achievement big time.
