Volunteer crew members from Ryde Rescue were tasked to assist a motorboat off Priory Bay this afternoon (Sunday).
The inshore lifeboat was called into action by HM Coastguard at 11:46 after a message was received from the vessel and its 4 persons onboard reporting engine trouble.
After heading towards the vessel’s position and arriving on the scene, the crew aboard the lifeboat, Ryde Rescue 1, quickly established a tow line after checking on the welfare of the occupants.
The stricken vessel was then towed the short distance to safety at Bembridge Harbour.
