A 27-year-old man is being questioned by Police after cash and a car were stolen from a property in Puckpool yesterday afternoon (Thursday).
Officers were called shortly after 15:00 yesterday to a report of a burglary at a house on Puckpool Hill, which is believed to have happened earlier in the afternoon.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that items including cash and a Citroen DS7 Crossback car were taken. The vehicle has since been recovered.
A 27-year-old man from Ryde was arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of offences including burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
He remains in custody at Newport Police Station at this time.

Why do people need to steal so often when there are so many job vacancies offering good money on the island. The retail firm i work for are offering £11.00 an hour.
So far the only applicants are those on the dole who are pretending to be looking for a job

Because they know they’ll get away with it , the justice in this country is a complete utter joke as is the benefit system ,where you can sit on your backside all your life claiming everything and all you have to do is pretend your looking for a job and cock up any interviews you may get. There’s loads of vacancies at min so why are they not saying if you don’t take the job your benefits stop oh I forgot its all about human rights!

We all feel the same way & the problem will only get worse with house building & immigration. Should all write to our MP. I wrote to works & pensions minister about layabouts getting too much for doing nothing.
With the current situation, I would send anybody with anger issues or problems with re-offending to Ukraine to help, that might teach them a lesson about integrating into society with respect.
