With many of us heading off on holiday this summer, the first without COVID-19 restrictions here in the UK, Hampshire Constabulary has provided some tips on how to keep your home secure.
There are many things that you can do to make your property safe from intruders in the summer, and here they are…
For a start, Hampshire Constabulary advise using smart switches and timers for your internal lights so that you can turn them off and on remotely or set them to come on in the evening, for example.
Cancelling and pausing scheduled deliveries will avoid any chance of high-valued items being left at the property unattended, and you should make sure that valuable items are not within view from outside your property.
As much as it may be tempting to post about your upcoming holiday on social media, avoid doing so as it can alert potential intruders to the fact you’re not at home.
Before you go away – no matter the length of time – it is recommended to ask a trusted neighbour, family member, or friend to keep an eye on your property.
Things such as parking on your drive, opening and closing your curtains, collecting your post and watering your plants are all deterrents to anyone who may be about to commit a crime on your property.

all the do gooders virtue signalling about no more oil, climate emergency, climate change etc etc are having a well deserved break from protesting, by flying to another country for an unnecessary trip to use up loads of jet fuel, as well as buying lots of new nylon clothing, that is made from hydrocarbons, for the trip and recording the memory on their phones, which were created by strip mining large areas of africa to get the metals and minerals that make the phone.
