A motorcyclist is lying injured in the road following a crash on St Mary’s Roundabout in Newport this afternoon (Wednesday).
Emergency services have been alerted to the incident, which occurred just before 17:10.
Traffic is building in the area, particularly for vehicles travelling from the B&Q roundabout onto St Mary’s.
UPDATE @ 17:50 – 1 ambulance and a rapid response paramedic are on scene, alongside Police.
It is understood that the motorcyclist has been involved in a collision with a car.
UPDATE – The incident has now been cleared.
The motorcyclist has escaped any serious injury.

because west wighter, it puts substance to the reporting – just simply saying ” a crash between a motorbike and car” tells the reader nothing, other than two objects collided.
The journalist or reporters job is to communicate as much of the matter as possible to the reader, in such a way that allows the reader to be able to create a picture in their mind, which represents the reality of the situation as closely as possible. Without details and other facts, the reporter will only be doing half a job and as such, the reader will not get the full picture, as large parts will be missing.

Thanks to all drivers who worked with us as we directed traffic around him and the ambulance crew who needed to work right on the roundabout and start of dual carriage way in a dangers position. it was extremely busy with traffic. Once they arrived they continued on from my initial first aid with other public members who stopped and called the emergency services.
