The Royal Isle of Wight County Show has been pushed back from June to the end of August, it has been announced.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus situation that is causing a crisis around the country, organisers have decided to postpone the annual event until Sunday 30th August.
The event was due to take place at the County Showground, Northwood on Sunday 28th June 2020.
Graham Biss, County Show Chairman said:
“We are very disappointed to have to postpone. We hope that our visitors, traders and exhibitors will understand we are in unprecedented circumstances and that public safety is our number one priority.
However, this is only a postponement and we hope it will be possible for us all to come together later in the year for an extra special celebration of everything that is good about the Island and its rural sector. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Show in August”.

They live in a dream land if they think that will go ahead in August! Anything which will get large amounts of people should just be cancelled till next year. What makes them think they are going to be ok with all those people together, when the rest of the country has stopped it all. Football, F1, gymnastics, marathons……
Let’s be realistic here shall we. Just cancel & think of publics health. If it was cases of foot & mouth they’d be shouting to stop the ferries!
A huge amount of work goes into organising events such as these and therefore any chance to salvage something from this hysteria should be taken and looked forward to. I for one hope that it will go ahead as we need to get back to normal as soon as possible.
…..and STILL the IOW Festival hasn’t been cancelled. Shall we take bets on how long they will leave it until the inevitable official notification. Anyone else think they are clutching at straws thinking it will still go ahead? Half of the audience will be missing, not to mention the performers that won’t perform. I’m guessing it will be about 26 ticket holders and a dodgy geezer with a mouth organ this year if it goes ahead…..
