A local jewellery store has reunited a stolen ring with its owners after it was sold to them last week.
The ring had been stolen from its owners and sold to Capital Jewellers in Newport.
Rob Capital – the owner of the St James’ Street store – noticed that the 18ct rose gold ring – which had been sold to his staff – had a very personal message engraved on it which read ‘ CHILLI MY BIG BABY BOY’.
Upon finding this out, Rob put a post on a local lost and found group hoping that he could use the power of social media to reunite the ring with its owner, and it didn’t take long.
Despite being out of pocket after purchasing the ring, Capital handed it back free of charge.

I saw the post on Facebook. A kind gesture by Rob. Glad the ring was reunited with its rightful owner. Shame on the scum bag who stole it!
To pawn items seller should be informed photo will be taken and they need to provide identification to prove who they are so if there is an allegation of theft these details can be passed to the police. Society needs to clamp down on such scum.
