Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council is inviting local residents to help shape the future of their community by participating in a survey that will inform the new strategic plan and forthcoming budget.
The survey aims to gather as many responses as possible to understand residents’ priorities and aspirations for Newport and Carisbrooke. It covers topics such as public spaces, transport, community events, facilities for young people, heritage and culture, and support for the elderly and vulnerable.
Residents will also have the opportunity to share their views on funding priorities and potential adjustments to the council tax precept.
Councillor Deborah Matthews, Chair of the Assets & Facilities Committee, has said:
“We want to ensure that the voices of our community are at the heart of everything we do. This survey gives residents a real opportunity to influence the future of Newport and Carisbrooke. Whether it’s preserving green spaces, supporting vulnerable residents, or improving local facilities, your feedback will help shape our strategic plan and guide how we allocate resources.”
The survey, which runs for the next 5 weeks until Tuesday 31st December, is available online at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd7o46-PlVYE8nO9sF5RetjChcZZOkzbmU-S5kBgx9jcHMW1g/viewform. Paper copies are also available at 64 High Street and Lord Louis Library and can also be requested by calling the Community Council on 01983 559119.
The Community Council is encouraging everyone to take part, whether online or through a paper copy, to ensure the survey reflects a wide range of views.
