The Royal Air Force’s iconic aerobatic display team, the Red Arrows, will not be coming to the Isle of Wight this summer.
The organisation recently announced that they will be performing 40 aerial stunt shows during 2023 but the Isle of Wight Festival and the iconic Cowes Week celebrations aren’t on the list.
As it stands the circus will head to the RAF Cosford Airshow on 11th June before putting on a display on Armed Forces Day on 24th June.
That does mean that there is space in the calendar should the Island’s biggest festival be added, but at the moment nothing is pencilled in.
Likewise, when Cowes Week rolls around, there is a large 2-week gap between shows at Old Buckenham Airshow on 29th July and Blackpool Airshow on 12th August. Cowes Week ends on Friday 4th August.
Despite the gaps in the calendar making it seem like the stars may align, many would have thought that were they coming to the Island they would have been all booked in and scheduled by now.
No fireworks, no Red Arrows, nothing for the locals or ordinary tourists.
Just a sailing regatta for yachties.
It IS a sailing regatta, it has always been a sailing regatta, for nearly 200 years. I don’t see what your point is, if you don’t like sailing or yachts why attend a week that is all about sailing?

Perhaps they will bombing Russia by then in return for any tactical Nuclear weapons they use on us to make an example of any country which aids Ukraine.

Sad not to see them, but the precious biosphere (apparently protected) of world renowned Wight has it’s carbon emissions at top whack this year with all the fields, farms and woodland being destroyed with the permission of our glorious leaders. So, no Red Arrows, just more Red Funnels bringing in those who can afford to live here.
The charge for a display ( according to the raf website ) is about £14,000 and had to be booked by 30 September 2022 so i don’t think they will be appearing.
As good as their skill is the damage these people do to our planet…

For when living a basic life in their own lands then they use little resources, but when here these people all need a home, costing a fortune and taking ‘another’ piece of our small land mass, they will likely mostly all end up with a vehicle, use energy for heating, create more sewage, land fill, have vast amounts of offspring to add to the problem, making it worse for the next generation, but SILENCE from people like you.

The emissions of a Red Arrows display is a tiny fraction of 1% of the emissions from vehicles on just the Isle of Wight in a year.
YOU only see what you read in your far-right echo chambers. If you listen or watch any BBC current affairs programmes (Panorama, Question Time, Any Questions, Today, etc) you will know that the BBC is a Government mouthpiece run by Tories for Tories.
