Homes and businesses in Brading, Sandown and Shanklin could be without power all evening as a result of a major network fault.
A total of 101 postcodes in the PO36 region have been hit by the power cut, which occurred at just before 19:30.
Island Echo readers are reporting complete outages or intermittent supply in the 3 main towns, as well as nearby surrounding areas including Yarbridge and Lake.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks say they are aware of the fault and engineers have been deployed. It is currently estimated that power will be restored by 22:30.
It’s thought that a sub-station on East Yar Road, Sandown has developed a fault.
For further information about this power cut call the dedicated helpline by dialling 105.
Alternatively, you can send SSEN a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity).
App: Did you know SSEN also have a mobile phone app where you can report, locate, track and subscribe to faults in your area?

It had to be the night football is on the telly.
Brading, Sandown and Shanklin’s turn this week. Maybe bet365 could run a book on where it will be next week.
Managers at SSEN would make a fortune from that
The power cuts will get interesting when they build a few thousand extra homes on the island.. bet none of the developers will want to improve the electricity supply or the drainage systems or anything that cost’s them money lol.. not even decent homes just nasty cheap little twisted timber boxes at extortionate prices aimed at youngsters who don’t know what they’re buying
