Police have closed the main road between Whitwell and Ventnor tonight (Thursday) following a road traffic collision.
Motorists are being turned around and diverted away from the area as the incident is blocking the carriageway.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are now on scene alongside Police colleagues. No one is thought to be trapped and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are not reported to be in attendance.
UPDATE – It is understood that a motorcycle has been involved in a collision with a VW Polo.
The motorcyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries.
The road has now re-opened.
