Police on the Isle of Wight are searching for a stolen silver VW Golf that was taken from a driveway in Sandown overnight.
The vehicle – registration mark RJ61 FWM – was parked on a driveway outside a residential address last night (Tuesday). However, when the owner awoke this morning, they discovered the vehicle had gone.
Witnesses say that 2 young males were in the vehicle at the Co-Operative car park in Ryde at sunrise this morning.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have been made aware of the theft and are working to locate the vehicle and those responsible.
Anyone who sights the Golf S Bluemotion TDI should call the Police on 999.
UPDATE @ 14:23 – The vehicle has been successfully located and recovered by Police.

Considering all petrol stations have camera and licence number recognition could they not have their computers upgraded to refuse fuel to any stolen vehicle?

Why couldn’t they have stolen the Golf from the absolute weapon near me who revs 1000 times to reverse onto his drive, and sounds like a goat being violated every time he does so. So many tools near me in noisy Fords and the like.

So car theft is happening on the island now. How times have changed. So many skanks on the rob now. Go to work and earn the money like everyone else, then you can afford to buy your own car instead of thieving someone else’s. Such a shame for the owner.
