Police have put out an urgent appeal to the public to aid them in finding a wanted man from the Monks Lane area of Freshwater this afternoon (Sunday).
Officers across the Island are searching for the 28-year-old man, Kevin Ouvry, who is wanted as part of an investigation into an assault, criminal damage and breach of a restraining order.
Ouvry was last seen in the Freshwater area at 11:50 on Friday, wearing a grey and navy dark hoodie, a Nike jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, white socks and black sliders.
He is described as a black male of a medium build, roughly 6ft in height, with his hair in a small braid.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is reassuring the public that their officers are working tirelessly to locate Ouvry and wishes to warn the public not to approach him if they do see him.
Instead, please call 999 immediately, quoting reference number 44260218960.
Police are also appealing for anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward, reminding the public that anyone found to be harbouring Ouvry in a deliberate attempt to obstruct location efforts may be committing an offence and therefore liable for arrest.
Information can be submitted online via the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary website, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or on its website.
UPDATE @ 15:14 – Following their appeal, the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the wanted man, Kelvin Ouvry, has been located and is in Police custody.
