A crash on a remote rural road in the South Wight earlier today (Sunday) resulted in a call out for Police, Fire and Paramedics.
Emergency crews were first called to the rural scene on Dolcoppice Lane at around 15:15, following reports of a 2-car collision.
Several Police units, as well as pumping appliances from Shanklin and Newport, converged on the scene alongside an Operational Commander from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Island Echo understands that the collision occurred on a sharp blind bend at the top of the lane.
Police closed Dolcoppice Lane at the junction with Appleford Lane and Shinybricks Lane, whilst the incident was dealt with.
After around 2 hours on scene, the involved vehicle was recovered and the road was reopened.

more bad driving on the Iow
Another single vehicle collision.
If the speed limit on the island was 20mph
then any kind of collision would be minimal and
less dangerous.
20mph is plenty, roll on devolution and maybe the
island will implement such speed limits,
many places on the mainland have implemented
20mph
if you wanted to have any creditability, it might help if you actuall read the article, rather than just spouting your persistant drivel of “20mph is plenty”
the report clearly states “reports of a 2-car collision”
what makes you think you know better that it was “Another single vehicle collision.”
The article changed, so now it must be due to
speeding otherwise could have stopped.
Shut up, fool
Either Santa got you a new mirror for
Christmas or an A Team dvd set.

Don’t be a Numpty all your life.
What a pathetic playground response. Grow up
yes in big towns not country roads
Here we go again. What a waste of all the emergency services time and money because of one selfish idiot. I would have just left them stuck in the hedge.
The utter shit driving standards on the island. But at least off the road.
“Emergency crews were first called to the rural scene on Dolcoppice Lane at around 15:15, following reports of a single vehicle collision.”
Correction: this was not a single vehicle collision.
Two cars collided on a blind bend.
So many numpties speed along narrow lanes on the
Island
20mph is plenty
More speed humps need installing islandwide to
slow motorists down.
