Police investigating a report of burglary in Ventnor have released a CCTV image in a bid to identify their prime suspect.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to a report that the Longshoreman’s Museum had been accessed overnight between Tuesday 22nd October and the following morning.
It was reported that entry was forced to the building and that cabinets and other property had been damaged. Money had also been stolen from the till.
Investigating officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries and are now in a position to release an image of a man they would like to speak with.
A spokesperson for the force has said:
“We know it is not the best image, however we are hoping someone may recognise him. Officers believe the man in the image may have valuable information to assist our investigation”.
