UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car at Somerton in Cowes this morning (Wednesday).
Police and Ambulance crews are on scene at Newport Road, close to the roundabout at the Park and Ride car park.
It is here that Island Echo readers are reporting that a Male pedestrian is laying in the road and is receiving medical attention.
The incident occurred at around 07:00.
Southern Vectis are warning of possible delays to their Route 1 service.
UPDATE @ 08:16 – 1 male has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment to injuries to his leg.
The scene has now been cleared and traffic is once again free flowing.
UPDATE @ 13:00 – It has been confirmed that a man in his 20s has sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle involved was a Ford Focus.
