Staff at the Needles Landmark attraction have issued a plea after a dog was left in a hot car yesterday (Friday) whilst its owners enjoyed a walk on the beach.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon and saw the pooch left in the car at the West Wight beauty spot in the hot summery conditions.
Instead of taking the dog with them – which is permitted at The Needles – instead the dog was left in the boot of the Volkswagen.
Commercial Manager Brandon Neal noticed the pet in the family car when he was walking through the car park. He then proceeded to wait at the vehicle until the owners came back, which took a while, despite several messages being broadcast on the public address system.
Taking to Twitter after the event, Brandon Said:
“Dogs are allowed on the beach and on the boats. Why bring the dog with you just to leave it in the boot of the car?
“Please don’t leave your dogs in the car”

Totally agree ,why on earth would you let your dog suffer (or die) in a hot car ?????
I reckon any idiot that leaves their dog in a car in the heat should be locked in the car for an hr or so ,see how they feel !!!!!!
Shouldn’t be allowed to have animals……
I totally agree, if they loved their dog that much why leave it in the car in the heat?? Your right let them see how it feels in a car for an hour maybe longer! They should be named and shamed poor dog.
I hope to God they had a right go at the “ owners “
Should lock owner in the car see how they like it
There are so many idiots in the world.
How would they like to Roast in a Vehicle.
The RSPCA should remove that poor dog from it’s so called owner. They don’t care about it, if they did they would not have left it to bake. Actually, even in partial cloud or even full cloud, the inside of a car can reach unbearable temperatures inside a few minutes at this time of year. Don’t Do It!
If the dog was distressed why did no-one phone 999?

EXCELLENT advice and information, well done and thank you. Hope the numpties read and digest…
Anyone who does this is actually inflicting unnecessary harm to an animal which equals cruelty to the animal and they should have been prosecuted. No one should leave an animal in the car when they day is going to be sunny, the wind had a slight chill yesterday but in he car it was hot, even with a window slightly open.
Well done Brandon..For waiting and pointing out to these stupid people.. That they could well have taken the poor fella with them.. How would they like it stuck in a car with a fur coat on.
I have two dogs and if they can’t go somewhere neither do I. Would have been great if someone could have broken a window to release the dog, the cost and inconvenience might make them think a bit more.
