Members of the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club have presented Mountbatten with a donation of more than £1,700 following a year of fundraising.
The club handed over £1,771.30 to the Island hospice on Wednesday 23rd September after raising money through several events during 2026, including its Open Day at Northwood in July.
The final total was also boosted with a contribution from club funds.
Vectis Historic Vehicle Club says it remains committed to supporting Mountbatten and the wide range of end-of-life care it provides for people across the Isle of Wight.
The club has said:
“We continue to pledge our support to Mountbatten for the amazing range of end-of-life care offered to Island residents.
“We recognise that without fundraising support, this valuable Island asset would not be able to provide the services so needed.”
Club members Bill Rasmussen, Tim DeBues, Peter Hodgson, Sandra Froment, Roy Burfield, Karen Attwood, Vickie Rasmussen and Kevin Attwood attended the presentation alongside Mountbatten ward nurses Adela and Debbie.
Jax Jones, from Mountbatten’s communications team, has thanked the club for its continued support, saying:
“I just wanted to say thank you all for your amazing ongoing support. It is so appreciated more than ever as we face challenging financial times.
“Thank you again for such a fantastic donation, it is so appreciated.”
