Peacocks is to return to Newport in just over 2 weeks’ time with the clothing retailer moving into the old Iceland store.
The high street fashion brand is set to open up just doors away from its previous store on South Street, which was located next to Sports Direct.
Renovation works are currently ongoing at the new site with extensive changes to both the interior and exterior underway. The former Iceland store has been empty since March 2023.
It was back in 2021 that Peacocks shut the doors to its Newport store for the final time. The company’s 2 other Island stores – located on Shanklin’s Regent Street and Ryde’s High Street – have remained open.
Although not officially confirmed, Island Echo understands that the Newport store will open on Thursday 28th November.

What’s going to be different this time ? If anything Newport is quieter now than it’ was back when they shut the doors last time.
