An off-duty police officer has been praised by a member of the public after apprehending a wanted man in Carisbrooke this afternoon (Thursday).
The officer had been on his day off and in the vicinity of Carisbrooke’s Co-Operative store when he spotted a 27-year-old man who he recognised was wanted for failing to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on the 17th August.
Witnesses have told Island Echo that the officer quickly intercepted and apprehended the male before contacting the police control room to request assistance which arrived shortly after.
Tha man was arrested for failing to appear at court and remains in custody.
Well done officer. Hope someone else does the paper work for you and he enjoys the rest of his day off.
You see, crime really doesn’t pay. You never know who’s about and have to spend your time watching your back! Very well done to the off duty police officer. To the bloke, what goes around comes around LOL!!!!
Thanks for your dedication. Shame his efforts will be wasted, by the judge issuing a slapped wrist.
Don’t forget they may have to pay costs as well usually £85 . I didn’t realise how badly paid all the court officials are. Is the judge £5 per hour?
If you don’t want to do the time you should not do the crime
Our plods are and always have been THE DOGS DANGLIES
GREAT JOB
