A number of motorists were stopped by roads policing officers yesterday (Saturday) including 1 driver who was seen going round a roundabout the wrong way.
On patrol officers met the car on a roundabout in Newport with officers were shocked to see the vehicle going the wrong way. The driver was pulled over and given a ticket – as was some advice on how to navigate roundabouts safely.
Later in the day, after lunch, a man was seen driving around Coppins Bridge whilst on his phone. When he was pulled over by Police he gave the excuse that he was checking the football scores.
The driver will subsequently have his licence endorsed with 6 penalty points.
Throughout the rest of the patrol 2 motorists were caught driving on local roads without insurance. Those individuals could face a fixed penalty and points on their licence.

It’s April Fools day every day along Great Preston Rd in Ryde.
Due to some Joker parking a Yellow Vauxhall Corsa on the pavement
Stopping the flow of traffic and making the Footway impassable to
Pedestrians.
Great Preston Road has 2 lanes, it’s not a 1 way Road,
If it was I could understand.
Therefore if motorists park on both sides of the Road it is impossible for
vehicles to drive along the Road without having to completely stop
due to the Road being too narrow.
Stop vehicles parking on the pavement would solve the problem.
Should they be out without a supervising adult !!!!

There was one idiot in Ventnor, a co op or Sainsbury’s van driver, who stopped in the middle of a busy road in Ventnor yesterday. She was doing deliveries. Dumb beyond belief.
Sainsburys van drivers need to slow down
