19-year-old Misti Lekimenju from Newport has become 1 of 7 female finalists in PETA’s UK and Ireland’s Hottest Vegan Competition 2017.
Isle of Wight-born Lekimenju is the daughter of a Masai warrior. She was inspired to go vegan after taking a job as a health-food sales assistant and learning about how healthy vegan eating can be.
Misti says:
“I encourage everyone to try a vegetarian or vegan diet wherever I go”.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Director Elisa Allen says:
“Vegans are, on average, slimmer and healthier and have more energy than their meat-eating peers – plus, there’s nothing hotter than compassion.
“Each one of the finalists in PETA’s contest is a testament to how sexy vegans are – inside and out.”

You can vote for your favourite contestants – 1 man and 1 woman – to let PETA know whom you think it should select as the winners. Each winner will receive an 8-course vegan taster menu for 2 at top London restaurant Gauthier Soho.
Voting on the finalists to help PETA determine the winners will run until 28th July. Winners will be chosen by PETA based on several factors, including vote count, and will be announced by 4th August.
