Hunnyhill Aquatics has thanked those who came to their rescue on Wednesday after what they described as ‘the worst flood in their history’.
Like many businesses and properties across the Isle of Wight, the Newport-based shop suffered extreme flooding on Wednesday after Lukely Brook burst its banks.
Around 99% of stock stored outside – including outdoor fish, ponds, water features and more – was lost as water cascaded through a fence and into the premises.
The business managed to clear up and open in time for 09:30 on Thursday morning.
A post on their Facebook page has said:
“We thank each and every one of you that helped and we also appreciate all the love and wishes everyone is sending!
“Hunnyhill Aquatics will be back bigger and better then ever”

Sad for the poor fish washed away.
Mind might slow down the social housing loft growing businesses as they buy much of their compost and plant food there.
They are being watched.

Yer me to I totally agree with you I love goin there I have got a lovely big fish tank from there. I know them very well they are all really nice.
Absolute disgusting comment to make, these people work for a living, and a large amount of living creatures have been lost.
A typical comment from someone hiding behind the keyboard who would never make a comment in public like that or indeed to the owner/staff of this business as they have not got the guts.
