
Police have once again bailed a 36-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murdering Shanklin resident David Johns last month.
It has been confirmed that the unnamed man, who was himself injured during the ‘altercation’ at an address on St John’s Road, Shanklin, on 25th April, answered bail last week.
The investigation remains ongoing and the 36-year-old prime suspect has been re-bailed with conditions until 3rd August.
It’s known that the male was arrested on suspicion of murder on the night of Monday 25th April. He was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital with what is understood to be knife wounds to his stomach.
As previously reported by Island Echo, grandfather David Johns was found dead after Armed Police and medics descended on a property near the junction with Orchardleigh Road.
2 women previously arrested on suspicion of murder have been released with no further action to be taken against them.
