An Isle of Wight man found guilty of driving without due care and attention following a serious collision in the West Wight last year is to be sentenced next month.
The case of 33-year-old Samuel Callaway, of Perowne Way in Sandown, was heard at Aldershot Justice Centre last week (13th January).
Callaway was found guilty in his absence of a single charge of driving without due care and attention following a serious collision on Military Road, at Compton, on 7th August 2024.
On the day in question, Callaway – driving his Honda motorbike – collided with the rear of a Toyota Aygo.
Such were the injuries sustained by Callaway that the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was scrambled from its Thruxton base.
The case has been adjourned until 25th February when Callaway will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court for sentencing.
Hmmmm so thats the problem you ride a motorbike not drive it.
There is never a time when you drive along the
Military Road and a motorcyclist doesn’t ride by at 80mph+
“Majority of Motorcyclists are lawless”
Whilst I have no problem with the use of colloquial language in common parlance, surely the local press can do better than referring the scene of this accident as the “Milly Road”.
