Wet roads.driving too fast? More bad isle of Wight driving!! Glad to hear the very lucky driver escaped safely though.
How do you know he wasn’t a mainlander going for the ferry
Why do you presume the driver was a “he”?
How do you know it was a he.
mainland drivers can drive
Mainland drivers are no better than island drivers, the majority on both islands are poor at best, you can view my dash cam footage on a daily basis for proof. All should be made to retake a test including a medical every 5 years and from the age of 70 it should be yearly, anyone failing should be forced to take an extended test to prove their standard of driving is to the required standard. The only reason you don’t hear of so many accidents on the mainland is the local media covers a wider more heavily populated area, picking up on “more news worthy events” listen to Radio Solent for the daily accidents in the road works on the M27 or the A31 or A35, many of the accidents on minor routes do not make the news.
How do you know the person was driving too fast?
Well Sheena, I take it you’re the worlds best driver then!!
Pointless comment
I’m not a particularly good driver no but I drive according to the road and weather conditions!!
Wow, theres been so many cars rolled recently that I have lost count. I wonder… does anyone have statistics or a count on this. That would be intersting!
https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/road-accidents-and-safety-statistics
Not sure if the statistics are separated by region though. Failing that, a freedom of information request to Hampshire Constabulary may be the other route.
Quite right, there are so many similar ‘accidents’ that there has to be some statistical similarities, it’s about time the causes were published; we all might learn something.
Only thing to learn here is drive to the conditions and stop blaming the bloody road surface for driver errors!
Was this Garry Fry again?
Thanks to island roads and tons of tarmac the roads a just like brands hatch now. Personally I love the roads on the island now. They are perfect for testing out the capabilities of your bike or car. So anyone with 1 horse could go to work or go shopping to Lidl and carry your stuff back in saddle bags. So why does one person need 200 horses or even more depending on how considerably much richer you are to do the same thing. No wonder the world is choking.
Wow said foggy I totally agree
Because more horses = bigger penis duh!
Yup, why I sold my big bike (150 BHP) and got one with just 25 HP. And it’s more than enough to do 70 on motor way all loaded up with camping gear. And as it’s smaller lower emissions (by a lot) and better MPG (by a lot). Ideal for the island. The motor manufactures have sold us speed and power with the help of government and they / we wonder why cars are on their roof all the time or in a field.
Is it only happening on the newly resurfaced road. If it is then maybe the possible is with the surface grip.
Just a thought
The causes are simple.. People driving too fast for the conditions, It’s not rocket science .. Slow down and get where you are going safely, It takes 45 minutes to get from one side of the island to the other (driving safely) if you are going to be late so be it, at least you and everyone else gets to where we are going in one piece. .
More bad driving on the I o w
Grow the bloody hell up you donut
More ill informed opinionated comments! Have a thought before airing your bullshit! Theres lives behind these stories.
FYI…“no serious injury” is also a bit of an understatement…
Maybe retake your test!!
